Textbooks teach the content, but only GCSE past papers reveal how it will be tested.

Why past papers matter
There's no substitute for sitting down with a real GCSE exam paper. Textbooks teach the content, but only GCSE past papers reveal how it will be tested - training students to decode command words, structure answers, and manage time under pressure. Most marks are lost not from weak knowledge, but from an unfamiliar exam format on the day.
That's why we've built one of the UK's largest libraries of free GCSE past papers, covering AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and Eduqas across every major subject. Each paper comes with its official mark scheme and is updated as soon as new recent GCSE exam past papers are released - because quality practice papers for GCSE shouldn't depend on a family's budget.
How to use them
Most students sit a paper, mark it, and move on. The students who jump grades treat past papers like training equipment.
Sit each paper under real exam conditions: silent room, no phone, timer running, official calculator rules.
Use the official mark scheme line-by-line. Award method marks only where the working shows what examiners want.
Tally lost marks by topic across 3–4 papers — that's your revision priority list, not the overall percentage.
The examiner report tells you the exact mistakes that 50% of students made on each question.
If you scored 40/80, re-sit the same paper after closing topic gaps. Repetition with reflection jumps grades.
Self-marking misses blind spots. Our mock exam service provides qualified examiner feedback from £30 per paper.

Frequently asked
Yes — every past paper and mark scheme on our site is completely free, with no sign-up, subscription, or hidden cost. We believe every Year 10 and Year 11 student should have full access to exam-board materials, regardless of whether they're working with a tutor or revising on their own.
Our library covers all the major UK exam boards — AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and Eduqas — across every core subject, including Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science, and the main modern foreign languages. Both Foundation and Higher tier papers are available where applicable.
We update our library as soon as new papers are released by the exam boards each summer, so students always have access to the most recent GCSE exam past papers alongside several years of historical papers for thorough practice.
Ideally, students begin attempting full past papers from around January of Year 11, once most of the syllabus has been taught. However, individual sections or topic-based questions from past papers can be useful much earlier — especially during Year 10 mocks or end-of-topic revision.
Past papers are one of the most powerful revision tools available, but they work best alongside a structured revision plan, regular feedback on answers, and targeted support for weaker topics. If your child is sitting practice papers but not seeing their marks improve, that's usually the moment to bring in a tutor or join a revision course.
Free, full-length practice papers for GCSE - plus expert support whenever your child needs more than a paper alone can offer.
